No, a fishing license is included with each trip.

 

The type of fish caught during a trip typically depends on the time of year. Although not guaranteed or limited to, fish caught offshore include: grouper, key west grunts, lane snapper, vermilion snapper, mangrove snapper, red snapper (SEASONAL) trigger fish, kingfish, porgies, amberjack, and cobia. The type of fish caught inshore may include: snook, trout, redfish, mackerel, sheepshead, mangrove snapper.

 

YES! We require reservations.

 

Please bring what you would like to eat and drink for the day. Protective clothing, sun protection, and sunglasses are also recommended. Due to limited space, you may bring a SMALL cooler no bigger than 18” to store your food and drinks in. Beer and wine are permitted. However, Hard Liquor, Illegal Drugs & Firearms are not permitted on any of our vessels. GPS (Including cell phones with GPS apps) and Navigational Devices are NOT permitted aboard our offshore vessels. Phones with such apps with be turned off and stored in a dry box on board for the duration of the trip.

 

Yes! Although we do supply the rods and tackle, you may bring your own if you wish! Please keep in mind that rods and tackle must be comparable to what is being used on the vessel by our captain. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us.

 

You are responsible for the rod assigned to you during the fishing excursion. In the event that a rod is lost (i.e. dropped overboard), you will be required to pay a $100 replacement fee. If the rod breaks due to wear and tear, you are not responsible to pay the fee.

Please arrive 45 minutes prior to your trip to check in and get your belongings on the vessel. We are located at two docks in the Cortez Fishing Village. Swordfish Grill & Tiki is where the KINGPIN, FLORIDA MAN & LITTLE SAVAGE are docked. The SAVAGE LADY is now docked at Tide Tables Restaurant & Marina. When arriving, please drop your things off and you will be instructed where to park your vehicle. There will be a shuttle waiting in our parking lot located on Cortez Road to bring you back to the fishing vessel.

 

Absolutely! Tips are always appreciated. Our mate works solely on tips and 18-20% is customary. (Gratuity is NOT included in our rates)

 

Absolutely. We are a family business and welcome children. But for safety purposes, children must be 5 years or older in order to fish offshore. We welcome kiddos under 5 on our inshore trips!

 

The captain would never put any of his passengers in danger. With that being said, the trips are subject to be canceled if the conditions not favorable or safe to go fishing. Generally, weather calls are made the afternoon before the trip is scheduled. We will reach out if the weather does not permit for us to fish.

 

We require a 48-hour notice to cancel your reservation on our offshore split fishing trips. If you do not cancel within 48 hours and don’t show up for your reservation, you will be charged the FULL amount for the trip.

For private trips, we require a 5 day notice in order to cancel your reservation.

This does not include if the captain cancels due to weather and/or mechanical problems. All cancellations made on behalf of Florida Fishing Fleet with be refunded in full.

If you have booked the entire vessel for a PRIVATE trip, we require a 5-day notice of cancellation.

We do not require a deposit, but we do require a credit card in order to reserve your trip. Payment is generally taken the morning of the trip. If booking online, you will see a hold on your card initially to verify the card is valid. Once the booking is accepted, the hold will come off within 5-7 business days depending on your bank. If you book online within 48 hours of the scheduled trip, your card will be charged.
